Daniel Mayer, Esq.

In 2009,  after law school, Daniel started working as an attorney at a law firm that assisted clients with bankruptcy and consumer-debt related legal issues. Daniel worked at the firm from 2009-2015. As a young lawyer at the firm, he honed his client servicing skills and  counseling and advising  clients became second nature to him.  However, as much as he enjoyed helping his clients, Daniel felt there was something missing.

In 2013, while still working at the firm, Daniel decided to help several mental health practitioners interested in opening a mental health practice in Baltimore, and provided them with basic business legal advice on starting the practice.  Although Daniel had never considered mental health law as a specialization, he thoroughly enjoyed working with the practitioners.  Over time, he continued working with the now-established practice and as he became more experienced in mental health law, he eventually became the practice’s Legal Counsel.

As the Legal Counsel, Daniel helped advise and consult with the Practice on everything from initial formation documents to employment law, HIPAA, and many other aspects of business and mental health law as the practice grew from a small office to three locations throughout the Baltimore area.

Realizing he had a passion for healthcare law and that he thoroughly enjoyed working with mental health practitioners, Daniel founded Mayer Law in 2018 with one purpose in mind: to provide top-notch legal services to healthcare and mental health practitioners and their practices.

Daniel understands all aspects of starting or running a healthcare or mental health  practice. As a husband and father, especially in these unprecedented times, he empathizes and understands the stresses and pressures a practitioner may be facing whether starting their own mental health practice or working to expand and grow an existing one.
